Don hired me in 1963 when the Company was small, located on Kemper Lane in Cincinnati. I adored his smile, his charm and his compassion.

I'm so sorry to learn about Don's passing.
It was a great pleasure for me to know him.

My first day at Burke was the first day that 1529 Madison Road was ready to be the new BMR office (April, 1967).  Two weeks prior I was interviewed by Herb Marsch and Don.  After meeting them I really wanted to work there.  My years at Burke were wonderful -- Don's excellence in management and research taught me everything I needed to know at a very high level.  In addition to his knowledge, Don was a wonderful and caring man and friend.  He was truly the ideal CEO.  My prayers to all his family and friends.

I still remember the good times with you and Don at the Tiara...I'm sorry to hear about your loss my prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Don's passing. I grew up on the same farm in Alliance and still remember trips to visit him in Florida. When he came to visit me and my family in the early 90's in Ocala, one of my daughters was so impressed with him that she majored in Marketing in college. He was an inspiration to a lot of people.

We honor a personality who has built a group of research companies and inspired and guided the professional life of many members of the international Burke company.   We lost a friend and tutor. I will never forget the first time Al and I sailed to the Abaco's, Don was at the helm of our sister ship Second Wind.  After we crossed over onto the Bahama Bank and dropped anchor he started singing "Back in Abaco" and jumped overboard with joy!  He was the most positive, enthusiastic person I have ever known.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, Susan and Al.

To Deb, all my cousins and their families,  

We were so sorry to hear of Don's death.  No matter what the age, it always feels too soon to say goodbye to someone we loved.  He certainly lived life to the fullest in  business, travel, and adventure.  More importantly, his life was filled with the love of family - Deb, his wonderful wife and partner, and his five kids and their families.  You must have so many wonderful memories of times shared!  Hopefully those memories will give you much comfort and reasons to smile in the days and years ahead. 

My dad was always so proud of his brothers and so enjoyed any time they got to spend together.  Now they are all together again.

My condolences to Deb and all my cousins. Uncle Don was a great guy. Back in the early 80s, Don gave all his nephews and nieces a generous gift. He wanted them to enjoy their inheritance at that time because Don planned to live a long life. We each used that gift for something special. When I bought my house, I used it to buy my grand piano which I have been playing for over 25 years now. A grand piano from a grand guy. Now Don has joined his two brothers that he loved so much. I know they are having a great time.

To the Miller family,

I had the great good fortune to be posted to the Burke office in London shortly after joining Burke.  I enjoyed innumerable dinners with Don when he visited London.  I particularly remember his kindness and humility.  He was a guest in my home for a weekend and we took him to our "local".  He wanted to play darts and charmed the dozens of locals - mainly by showing so much interest in them and their lives.  

I owe so much of my success in life to Don, his wonderful example and the confidence he instilled in me when I was just a kid starting out.

He was a man who touched hundreds of lives  and left all of us better off for having known him.

I have so many positive things to remember.  Perhaps for me, the most significant was how he inspired.  Spending time with Don was sought by many.  After those meeting,  we were always challenged with his ideas of new opportunities.
 His smile, his goodness, his ethics, were something for all of us to pattern our lives.  I was lucky to start my career under his leadership.
