My Joe
By Pat Heydlauff
Life always begins and ends
For my dear husband it has now passed
Life always grows and changes
It can never humanly last, except for memories retained
Life always brings new opportunities
Boy Scouts, the Air Force, college, business executive, fisherman and family
Life always includes joy when you least expect it
Marriage, an expanded family, a rainbow at 30,000 feet, a cruise down the Danube, traveling with best buds or a new grandchild in your arms
Life was always filled to the fullest
T-shirts filled with bold statements, a loud boisterous laugh, ice cream, a whistle you could hear for miles, a Home Depot kind a guy, reading the Night Before Christmas, chocolate milk and donuts, ice cream, flying kites, a Model A car, Lazy Boy chairs, the TV tuner, pontificating for hours on end and oh, more ice cream
Life always has some sadness
But gives way to joy knowing that in his passing he is healed, loved and fondly remembered.
A “fly-boy at heart, my companion, my love, a hero to all.
