

Francis “Frank” C. Wise, Jr., 88 passed away on March 19, 2021. The youngest of three children, he was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 27, 1932 to Francis C. Wise, Sr. and M. Victoria (Pleasant) Wise. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Nellie V. and Margaret M. Frank had a happy childhood and was proud of his Pittsburgh heritage. He enlisted in the Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Frank married the love of his life, Mary Jane Torisky on June 11, 1955. During their 66 years of marriage, Frank and Jane raised five children: Judith Hagan (John), Mary Lee Dominick (Darrel), Barbara Montesano (Tulio), Cathleen McManus (Michael) and Francis Wise (Christelle) and being blessed with 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In 1957 and for 37 years, Frank was employed by as a Customer Service Representative with United Airlines, working at their Pittsburgh station. In 1979, he transferred to the UAL station in West Palm Beach, FL. Upon his retirement from UAL, Frank was employed by the Diocese of Palm Beach as the Sacristan at St. Ignatius Cathedral, working closely with the clergy and staff.
He and Jane loved living in Florida. Their home was the go-to vacation destination for their large family and many friends. They loved to travel and experienced numerous amazing adventures all over the world.
Frank cherished family celebrations and traditions. His happiest times were spent with his family. He was always interested in the lives of his children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed his kids’ many practical jokes. Frank loved baking goodies for his grandchildren, always timing his deliveries so the cookies were still warm when the kids got home from school. He could often be found crafting wooden projects or tinkering in his garage.
Frank had a heart of gold and was generous with his time. Throughout his life, he was actively involved with various community service organizations. While living in Pennsylvania, he volunteered with the Boy Scouts and served as President of the Treehaven Swim Club. Upon moving to Florida, he became heavily involved with the Knights of Columbus, rising to the level of Fourth Degree Grand Knight. He was an active parishioner at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic church.
Sadly, we have lost a loving husband, father, grandfather and beloved friend to many. Frank will be greatly missed.
A mass of Christian burial and celebration of Frank’s wonderful life will be held on May 3, 2021 at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Aycock/Riverside Funeral Center, www.aycockfuneralhomejupiter.com.
