

Gloria Elizabeth Van Pelt (nee Plotecia) of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of Worcester, Massachusetts died peacefully in her sleep on June 11th, 2022 surrounded by family. Gloria was born in New York, New York on January 5th, 1928.
She met the love of her life, George T. Van Pelt at the NYC branch of the USF&G Insurance Company. They married on July 24, 1949. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their two daughters, Glorene E. Houlihan, (Michael) and Georgette S. Hugger (Peter) in Elmont, New York. In 1973, she and George relocated to Worcester, Massachusetts. There, they created lasting memories when they hosted family and friends at their warm and welcoming home. Laughter, love card games, sleigh riding, swimming, and "happy rides" are memories that will never be forgotten.
Gloria moved to Jupiter, Florida in November 2017 due to her extreme sensitivity to cold. She leaves behind her daughters, their husbands, her grandchildren, Jeannine Sherman (Scott), Craig Hugger (Liz Harlan), Corinne Murphy (Chuck) and Brandon Houlihan (Carina), great grandchildren, Brady, Bryce and Brooke Murphy, Zach Sherman, Sara and Lexie Hugger, and Declan and Hudson Houlihan, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A viewing will take place on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 at 8:30am at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center. A funeral service will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410) on June 15th at 2pm, and burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta, Florida.
