Helen Irene Shomo

Mrs. Helen Irene Shomo, age 78, of Singer Island, Florida passed away the evening of January 26, 2012 at the Palm Beach Gardens Hospital Hospice Unit. In the end Helen was with her family and loving husband, Robert. Helen and Bob were married for 62 years. Helen lost her battle with cancer after two and one-half years, her husband and family at her side through this entire course. She now begins her new journey to a better place and she will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Shomo, loving wife, mother and grandmother was born in Westfield New Jersey on April 19th, 1933 to the late Charles Goekemeyer and Helen Young Goekemeyer. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Pamela H. Shomo.

Her surviving family includes husband Robert, three sons Robert and wife Susan of Medford New Jersey, Timothy and wife Leslie and Casey and wife Kimberly of Palm Beach Gardens together with six grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Patricia and husband Dr. Chester Lindsey.
