

She was born in Middletown, Connecticut, formerly of Durham, Connecticut, and was a longtime resident of North Palm Beach, Florida. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from The Teachers College in New Britain, Connecticut. She was a Teacher at Allamanda Elementary School for 22 years. Janet was married to her loving husband Lionel (Lee) Arcand for 65 years.
She was a volunteer with the Top Hatters dance group, and the Salvation Army, Crafty Ladies. She and her husband Lee loved to travel and spend quality time together and with their family. She was an avid reader and a friend of The North Palm Beach Public Library.
The remaining family to mourn her include: her brother, Roger Berten (Marjorie); children, Susan Grady (Paul), Ellen Dennis (Jim), Nancy Dekker (Peyton), Lisa Ridgely, and daughter in law Tonya Eisele (Steve). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Jack, Mike, Carly, Morgan, Kendall, Kyle, Carter, Page, Ashley, Jay, Peyton II, Justin, Taylor, and 12 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her loyal and long-term caregiver, Marie. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel (Lee) Arcand and her son Peter Arcand (Tonya).
