Jeffrey was born in Burlington, Vermont to his beloved parents, Donald J. Rives and Elaine French Rives, who have predeceased him. Over his life, Jeff lived in “lots of different places” to quote one his favorite movies, The Highlander.
Throughout his life, Jeffrey had a deep passion for sports, particularly baseball, which led him to become an avid supporter of the New York Yankees. He also was a fan of the New York Giants, and the New York Rangers. A favorite baseball quote from Wes Westrum- “Baseball is like church. Many attend but few understand.”
In the realm of music, Jeffrey had an eclectic taste, finding joy in the sounds of Jimmy Buffett, Jennifer Nettles, and The Eagles. He loved country music, classic rock and everything in between. The melodies of these artists provided a soundtrack to many cherished moments in his life. He always said he was “living and dying in three-quarter time” -Jimmy Buffet.
Professionally, Jeffrey honed his skills as a meat cutter, dedicating 30 years of his life to this craft. His dedication and expertise were highly regarded by his colleagues and customers at Publix Supermarkets. In the last 7 years, he embarked on a new journey as a tax accountant and a partner/owner of AAL Business and Tax, a local CPA firm which he owned with his wife. His work in this field showcased his sharp mind and commitment to helping others navigate their financial matters.
