Joan Norem Cornell

Joan married William C. Cornell from Aliquippa, PA on March 17, 1945. They were graduates

of Syracuse University and the wedding took place after William returned from World War II

where he served as a Captain in the Marine Corps. They were residents of Palm Beach since

1967, relocating to Palm Beach Gardens in 1999.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, William, who passed away after 59 years of marriage on

their anniversary, March 17, 2004.

Joan leaves a son, William Allison Cornell of West Palm Beach; three daughters, Patricia Norem

Cornell of West Palm Beach, Joan Elva McCaffery of Asheville, and Anna Rebecca Newman of

Riverside, CT; four cherished grandchildren, Allison Ann McCaffery of NC, AnnaVirginia

Tabernilla of West Palm Beach, Francisco T. Cornell of Royal Palm Beach, and Rebecca

Newman of NYC. Joan will be missed by her young great-grandson, William Patrick, son of

AnnaVirginia Tabernilla as well as her devoted caregiver, Nancy Boney, who has been part of the family for 18 years and will miss Joan dearly.

As a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joan was remarkable, the heart of our family,

and always present. Mom, you will be dearly missed.

An hour of Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at

AYCOCK-RIVERSIDE FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at

Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta.
