

Kenneth J. Sarling, 65, of Massapequa Park, NY, passed away on August 24, 2024. Born on October 4, 1958, in Rockville Centre, NY, Ken was raised in Massapequa Park, NY and raised his family in East Setauket, NY. He later moved to Juno Beach, Florida with his wife Theresa in 2016.
Ken attended A.G. Berner High School, graduating with the class of 1976. It was during these years that he met the love of his life, Theresa Masiello, whom he would later marry. Their love story spanned 42 beautiful years, filled with shared joys, deep companionship, and an unbreakable bond.
Ken dedicated 30 years of his professional life to NY Telephone as a skilled Cable Slicer. Beyond his work, Ken’s love for sports was unmatched. He was a fantastic golfer and a talented baseball and softball player.
Ken had a deep passion for life and the people in it. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dear friend. Ken had a natural gift for bringing people together. Whether it was at home, where he entertained with his culinary talents, or simply in the company of those he cherished, Ken's presence was always warm, inviting, and filled with joy. His eggplant parmesan was a particular favorite, earning him praise from everyone who had the pleasure of tasting it.
Ken is predeceased by his father, Charles Sarling, and mother, Antoinette Sarling. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Masiello Sarling, and their two children, Alexandra and Christopher Sarling, who were his pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brother, Charles Sarling, and his sisters and brother-in-law, Rosanne Darmanin, Patricia Masiello, and Jerry Masiello. Ken was a beloved uncle to Michelle Duran, Michael Sarling, Dana Darmanin, Nicholas Masiello, JJ Darmanin, Anthony Masiello, and Joseph Masiello. His family, along with his many friends, will remember him for his kindness, generosity, and the love he had for those around him.
Ken's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, on September 3, 2024 from 2-4PM, and again at 6-8PM. A funeral mass will follow on September 4, 2024 at St Patrick's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ken’s memory to the American Heart Association.
