

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Martha and Erwin Berndt on May 17, 1938, Laverne passed away on December 29, 2016.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Richard and Erv.
She is survived by her devoted husband Richard; children Lorene (Matthew) Taylor, Vince (Robyn) Gasso, Linda (Anthony) Moringello; grandchildren Vincent, Michael and Anthony Gasso. Also survived by her sister, Beverly (Donald) Castelaz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laverne began her career at the Line Material Company then worked for many years as an industrial sales associate for Seavey and Florsheim Brokerage. She completed her career at the State of Wisconsin-Department of Transportation, utilizing her Real Estate Broker license which she maintained for 30 years.
Laverne was a talented seamstress, clothing designer and fabric artist. She studied art, and continued taking sewing and painting classes for all of her life. She designed and constructed all types of garments from swim suits to business suits, wedding dresses to costumes. She also designed and quilted fabric art quilts.
Laverne and Richard were married for 57 years. They relocated from Wisconsin to Jupiter, Florida. They traveled the US, Europe and the Caribbean. They loved to “eat off the beaten path” and found adventure in everything they did together.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd from 10-11am with funeral services to begin at 11am, Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL
