Martin John Gildemeyer, Sr. of Tequesta passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on May 24, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Marty is preceded in death by his first wife, Tina in 1966; his daughter, Debbie, in 1964; a sister, Margaret Klink; brother, Harold; nephew, Robert Gildemeyer and a grandson, Sean Thomson in 2012.
Left behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life, best friend and wife of 47 1/2 years, Kathleen Murphy Gildemeyer; three daughters: Kimberly Thomson of Palm Beach Gardens; Christina (Robert) Oliveras of Boynton Beach; Kathleen (Ronald) Fulginiti of Buford, Ga. and two sons; Martin Jr. (Shelley) of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Michael Gildemeyer (Babette) of Tequesta, who continues on with his father's business.

And I saw the river over which every soul must pass to reach the Kingdom of Heaven,
and the name of that river was Suffering:
and I saw the boat which carries souls across the river and the name of that boat was Love.
