Our deepest sympathies for the loss of one of the nicest human beings. As our next door neighbor in Stratford on High View Drive, many fond memories of swiming in the Brown's pool to the many times "the Browns, McDonald's and Platt's got together for drinks before going out to dinner" and later when the Brown's moved to Chapel Street, I'd stop and say hello when I was riding my bike in the area and she'd often have "Brownies brownies" and a drink for me. Later, in West Palm, great memories visiting my parents in West Palm and my wife and I getting together for drinks with my parents and the "the Brown's"....many good times and laughs and great memories of Jean and George. Truly the Brown's were my parents best friends for the majority of their adult life. My mom, Edna, as recently as a few weeks ago, would talk regularly with Jeannie and has been very sad and down about the loss of her good life long friend. She recently told me that she owed her a phone call and couldn't believe she just couldn't pick up a phone and call her. Jean's death has hit Edna hard. 

Our deepest condolences to Don and Susan and we give thanks for friendship the Brown family and the McDonald family have shared over a lifetime. 

We are sorry we didn't know about the celebration of life ceremony. Certainly, Jeannie and George celebrated life every day of their lives. They will be missed but live on in our memories.

She was my father's sister and she was a fun lady.   I lived near her as an infant in those tumultuous post war years as America came together and the Baby Boom was underway.  My parents and my Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Mac were a huge part of my world and along came some real fun cousins.  The years went by but not without numerous trips to Connecticut and their trips to New York as we lived apart even further.  Thanksgiving and Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Mac they were so much fun, I knew and expected they would laugh a lot and loved my youthful high jinx with my cousin Don.  My sister and Sue we're like scheming sisters in riotous visits and countless summer trips to their boat on Long Island Sound, fishing and Aunt Jeannie turning whatever we caught to a feast and celebration.  She was full of fun and total acceptance.  My nana and her laughed and I recall French Canadian family history, sometimes in French gave added interest to my growing love for American History.  They would both chase me out of the kitchen with laughter as they made yet another huge family dinner- but I always got to steal food.  Time flew by, college, the Vietnam War and my cousin was coached weekly by my parents who sent him goodie boxes and I wrote just about every day.......until........the steady girlfriend.  Aunt Jeannie, Uncle Mac and their love and laughter and positive optimistic attitude kept me afloat and hopeful during those dark Tet Offensive and lost direction for our country.  Gifts came later to the family I was raising. The kids knew the best, most fun, off the wall presents would be from Aunt Jeannie.  They loved her and Uncle Mac and my cousins were not adults with fun and excitement in their hearts like their parents.  I visited often until the move to Florida.  Letters came and my dad was encouraged always after talking to his sister.  My family was a plan of action in love, joy, and Aunt Jeannie was a heart and soul of positive reinforcement.  

I look at the little black and white photo of Aunt Jeannie, my Dad and my Gramps and their beloved dog way back in the youth they shared as I look at family pictures on my wall as I pack to go to say good bye. Young and smiling eyes look out at me today with a joy for a future yet to be.  I knew them.  I loved them.  My father's sister passed away Wednesday and I will join my cousins and their families in saying good bye to an outstanding Aunt, Mom, Grandmother, Wife and Sister whose loving kindness will forever remain in our hearts as we continue our families journey, emulating her joy and commitment to us. I will represent all of my family here, with my cousins in Florida. I'll resume when I return, God Bless all families who are experiencing loss.

I will always remember being welcomed for visits to Nana Brown's house with hugs, smiles and lots of good snacks and brownies. It was always fun to sit down with her and share stories and look at pictures. She was a remarkable woman who is an inspiration to us all.

Nana always came to any function with a big smile, great hugs and baked goods.  She always acknowledged the kids and made everyone feel like family.  Nana was a wonderful lady and will be missed but we know we will see her again

Dear Don and Susie,
Our sincere condolences from the Craw family.  My mom will certainly miss the lengthy phone conversations with your mom.  They were friends for at least 60 years!
We will be with you in spirit at the celebration on Sunday.

I knew Mary Jeannette Brown simply as "Nana."  Nana was my sister in law, Kim Cuomo's grandmother.  I remember how in love Nana was with her family, especially my nephews Michael and Matthew.  She was always fun and quick with a smile. I remember her brownies, how kind was was to my own daughter and even in her 80s could make my 5 year old laugh!  I will remember how she always looked so pretty with her hair just right, clothes perfect and always wore the same three delicate necklaces.  She leaves a beautiful legacy of love.

We love you mom. You were the best. You will be very missed.

I loved Nana Brown and I will miss her alot. I remember how special it was to go to Nanas house and at the front door get a warm hug and a bag of cookies with my name on it. She was so fun and nice to be around. I loved when I helped her make choclate chip cookies and brownies. She was nice to everybody. She made me feel special. I will miss her dearly.

Jeannette is my sister in law's Grandmother. I was fortunate enough to know her for 20 years. She was one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever met. To me, she represented the perfect Grandmother. Warm, kind, caring and a comfort to be around. I used to call her the "fairy tale grandma". It was always a treat to go to Nana Brown's house, or receive a bag of cookies with your name on it from Nana Brown. My daughter has been known to hide the cookies, so that there would be some left for her when she came home from school. We were lucky to have her in our lives. We will miss her.

Jeannette is my husband's aunt and I loved her too! She had the best sense of fun - a true "joie de vie".  One of my fondest remembrances of Jeannie is that she always chose truly amazing Christmas gifts for our three kids:  things that moved and made noise, things that no one else would ever find!  We started a tradition of opening Aunt Jeannie's gifts on New Year's Eve as a way to prolong Christmas. Besides, her wonderful gifts deserved their very own holiday!  Those gifts were a reflection of Aunt Jeannie herself:  special, unique and just plain joyful.  Lots of Love and Hugs to all of the Browns who are missing her so much...Robin Benoit
