It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Thornton Keeler, surrounded by her daughters, on September 2, 2025. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1944, Nancy lived a life defined by love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends and community.
She met the love of her life, J. Robert Keeler, while volunteering on an ambulance, and the two were married on January 25, 1964. They eventually settled in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where they built a beautiful life together.
Nancy and Bob co-founded Bay Harbor Real Estate in Juno Beach, which they successfully grew to four offices stretching from Stuart to North Palm Beach. But Nancy’s impact extended far beyond business. She founded a beloved charity, Secret Santas, to provide Christmas for families in need. What began with helping one family blossomed into a 45-year mission that served an average of 15 families each year.
After retiring from real estate, Nancy poured her heart into her church, leading the Bereavement Committee with grace and compassion, she transformed the receptions into beautiful, heartfelt gatherings. She also enjoyed volunteering in the church office, preparing meals for the needy, visiting the elderly, and especially proud to have served as a Deacon.
Nancy is survived by her four devoted daughters and nine cherished grandchildren:
Carol Goldenberg (Skip): Reed and Casey
Susan Laigaie (Joseph): Eric, Sara Nunamaker (Justin), Matthew, and Julia
Linda Zeban (Steve): Taylor and Katelyn
Sharon Gisriel (John): Patrick
To her family, Nancy was more than a mother and mom-mom, she was a best friend, a confidante, and the heart of every celebration. Her grandchildren will tell you that she found the most joy in seeing them, and made every occasion bigger, better, and more special. They all looked forward to being silly and laughing with her, it was always guaranteed to be a fun time. Her son-in-laws adored her for always being such a good sport no matter how ridiculous their jokes or antics were. Everyone loved her famous Christmas cookies, cakes and éclairs. If you knew Nancy, you were bound to be on a diet sooner or later! She spent countless hours playing cards and games with her daughters, grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, and her closest girlfriends. She had a way of making any newcomer feel as part of the family.
The love she gave and the joy she brought will be missed every single minute of every single day by her family. She leaves behind a world that was better for having her in it.
In accordance with her wishes, no one is to wear black, instead, please dress colorfully to honor the brightness she brought into our lives.
If you would like to donate in Nancy’s honor, may we suggest you do so to Believe With Me, a non-profit that supplies Christmas gifts to the children of fallen service members. We know and trust the people that started it and run it. The link for Believe With Me is, https://givebutter.com/ymPdpV
