Oddmund “O.T” Hackman Tachie-Menson, the last born of Captain James Hackman Tachie-Menson (of blessed memory) and Veronica Tachie-Menson (nee Hayford) went to be with the Lord on November 20th, 2021 in Houston, TX.
Oddmund was born in Accra, Ghana on August 27, 1974 and was raised there briefly before the family moved back to England. In the 1980’s, the family moved to the U.S and ultimately settled in Jupiter, FL where he spent his formative years. He attended Jupiter High School and graduated from University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Administration and Hospitality Management.
Oddmund was full of life. He loved to dance, sing and entertain from childhood and stayed that way through his adult years. Before going to college, he joined Up With People to travel around the world bringing joy to others. Upon graduation from college, he took a job as an entertainer at Universal Studios. His next gig was with the Jimmy Buffett band’s Road crew, the perfect opportunity to combine his love of all kinds of music and travel. He hyped up many a crowd before Jimmy came on stage. O.T. described those experiences as some of the best times of his life.
An explorer at heart, his next quest led him to a 20-year career with Southwest Airlines in Chicago, Orlando and Houston, where he remained employed until his death.
O.T. also had an avid interest in Real Estate investment and development, as well as E-Commerce, and was a budding Real Estate Investor and Entrepreneur, recently founding JVO Ventures LLC and JiVeO Exchange LLC to advance his interests.
Oddmund (O.T) was a wonderful person to be around. His infectious smile and laugh lit up the room. He was warm, generous and fun. He touched so many hearts around the world with his kindness and charity and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He always rooted for the underdog and cared about so many people and causes.
O.T. is survived by his loving mother Veronica, his siblings Cynthia (Frank), James, Charlotte, Charles (Tina), Michael, Ursula (Perry), Vanessa and Odette (Aubrey) and a number of cherished nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Captain J.H. Tachie-Menson.
