Born in Flushing, NY, and raised in Birmingham, MI, Paul graduated from Birmingham High, and Michigan State University, where he met his wife. Together, Paul and Corky had a rich and full life, raising 4 kids, living primarily in Newport Beach, CA, and Franklin Lakes, NJ, before retiring to the sunny life of Jupiter, FL.
In 1968, Paul began a long and varied career at Sealed Air Corporation, working his way from from sales representative to Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He was instrumental in helping to grow Sealed Air from a small company to a multi-billion dollar international one. While there, Paul spearheaded the creation of the “Bubble Lite Mailer”, which quickly became an office staple.
Paul, an avid golfer, was a longstanding member of Arcola Country Club in NJ, serving on the board and becoming the Club Champion in 1985, and then later, the Senior Champion. He was proud to have achieved “shooting his age” many times, as well as a hole-in-one at his home course, Jonathan’s Landing. But more than anything, Paul was gratified by the large and loving family he created. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was encouraging and supportive to his loved ones, and welcomed every new member as one of his own. An Irishman by heritage, Paul was an exuberant storyteller, made great friends wherever he went, and embraced life with gusto and enthusiasm.
Paul’s 78 years were full of love, adventure, accomplishment, and meaning. He will be sorely missed by Corky, his forever companion. And he will be continued to be loved dearly by his children, Lyn Hogan of Westport, CT, Diane Hogan-Nives of Fair Haven, NJ, Kathy HoganBruen of Washington, DC, and Steven Hogan of Dacula, GA; their grateful spouses; and his 10 adoring grandchildren. Paul will also be fondly remembered by his 2 siblings, Lee Hogan and Patricia Miller.
Paul’s life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Friday, March 30 at 11 am at Aycock Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL, (561) 746-5124. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s name to the National Heart Association and the National Lung Association.
