Happy Birthday Dad, this, which would have been your 80th!  I can’t even bear not to hear your voice and wish you a Happy Birthday!  We will though,  keep you with us Always,  and we will remember you today as we do every day.  We will also have cake for you,.. your “all time favorite junk food”, as it is a big memory, close to our hearts, whenever we have cake.

Dear Dad,
I haven’t been able to post anything to your memorial site.  I think because posting this message to you will make everything real….and this is still NOT REAL to me.  I still feel I will wake up soon, from this terrible dream.  It’s very hard to process, it’s very hard  and painful without you here, it’s very hard not hearing your voice,  it’s very hard knowing I can’t see you and it’s so very hard knowing I can’t hug you!  I miss our phone calls and hearing “Hi Lee..….It’s Dad”, I miss our visits with you in NJ and your visits with all of us here in Florida, and all the trips we took together with the family.  We all just miss you terribly as every part of all of our lives involved you.  Mason and Logan miss you so much…and talking with you about their jobs, football, basketball, friends, girlfriends, and all the usual Pop Pop and grandson conversations!  We all think of you every single day!
You made so many things that much more fun!  My birthday was always full of special and goofy Halloween items from you, and I treasure all of them!  Wildwood trips were the best, as you showed me all of the amazing boardwalk junk food as a little girl…and even as an adult…me and you still went on our binges of ice cream, Mac’s pizza, Curley’s fries, and fudge.  The boys loved participating in those cheat days too!! 
I can’t say enough of you being the greatest, most wonderful, amazing Dad ever and the same for being the greatest and cherished “Pop Pop” to all of your grandsons….Mason, Logan and Tristen.  You made all of us feel loved!  You were always the one we could laugh with, joke with, always finding the fun in everything, and thoroughly  enjoy the time we all spent together.  
It’s said that time heals all wounds.  I’m sorry to say that is completely incorrect.  Time will NEVER, EVER heal the wounds left by loosing you.  It hurts way too much when thinking you are not here with us anymore.  You are melted in all of our hearts and you are with us forever! 


I cannot express how sad I was to hear of his passing. I like  this picture too. Although I had not seen him in a long time... Mr Cracker was alway nice and kind  to me every time I went over to Lisa’s house. My memories are of him just always being there ... smiling , when Lisa and I would go out dancing together. He was such a nice person. I am sure he is angel in heaven watching over his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family always. 

Richard and I served as Eucharistic Ministers at  all 3 Catholic Churches in Hammonton. That is when my wife and I got to really know Dick and Kathy even thought they lived just down the street from us. We loved going out to dinner after Saturday night mass. Dick had an incredible love of Our Lord and Kathy and a real dislike of onions.  Barbara and I were privileged to be invited to their 50th wedding anniversary at Illiano’s Restaurant a few years ago. Dick had a great time at the event but remembered to lead us in saying Grace as always before breaking bread. We will always cherish Dick’s companionship.  It’s hard for us to believe he has left us for his final reward. Rest In Peace friend.

Richard was my grandfather, but we affectionately knew him as Pop Pop. Growing up in Florida and him living in New Jersey you would have thought that it would be difficult to see him, but that couldn’t have been less of the case. He was always around for every step of the way, from being at the hospital the day I was born in 1996, to landing my first full time job as an engineer just last month.

I think you’ll agree that even though he was a 79 year old man, he was still a major kid at heart. I can’t remember a time where he wasn’t rummaging the kitchen for sweets. We always knew when he was here because of the trail of cake and ice cream he would leave in our pantry, often to the disappointment of my mom who worked hard to keep it stocked with healthier choices. You’d think that for a kid, frequent 2 and a half hour flights to New Jersey aren’t the most exciting thing, and yeah they weren’t, but it was always worth it because I always knew that happy memories with Jams and Pops were going to be made.

More recently, Pops was was there to watch me walk across the stage at Georgia tech. They drove all the way from New Jersey to the heart of Atlanta to be there. In typical Pop Pop fashion, he was wearing the biggest balloon animal hat at the event and was chowing down on the complimentary cookies minutes after arrival. Even just this year, even though everything was virtual, he saw me get my masters degree, a great first job, and he even got to meet my very first dog of my own.

Pops taught me that you can still be a grown man taking care of all your responsibilities, but still know how to have fun. You can still be a grown man and still be goofy. You can still be a grown man and know when not to be serious and just let loose. I truly believe that he was a special and one of a kind grandfather. All my friends, even through my adulthood, knew Jammy and Pop Pop. Not only because he was there for everything, but because of the kind, loving, and fun person he was.

Dick was an expert in his field & prevented an adverse drug reaction while my dad was in the hospital.

Lisa and I met in Kindergarten and  throughout school remained friends.   Mr. Cracker was always smiling and happy.   He loved his family and loved having his children’s friends around the house.   He would always be willing to take us for ice cream or to the movies.   As I grew up and would see him around Hammonton, he would always have a heartfelt question about how I was doing and my family.    My condolences to his family.   I am sure he is watching over all of you. 

Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. He was a great man on earth who shined in everyone’s life. You will be missed dearly, Mr. Cracker. I’ve known you since I was 13.  I remember being at your house with Lisa. Steven would always try to get into his sister’s room. And Mr. Cracker would always yell out “Leave the girls alone, Steven”.  I will remember him as a kind man. Who smiled, always. I’m glad that my family had the opportunity to meet him as well. 
 Lisa, Monty, Mason, Logan, Mrs. Cracker, Steven, and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.  Our deepest sympathies.

We have been so blessed to have known Dick for almost 40 years and will miss him dearly.

He was a true gentleman, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He had the most unique laugh, which always made us laugh even more.  There aren't enough pictures to show how much we enjoyed his company.

When Lisa and Suzanne & mom's Cathy and Sandy became friends we got an instant family including  Dick and Steve.

It gives us peace knowing we will be with him once more in God's loving presence through Jesus our Lord and Savior.

We wish we could be there in person at this time, but know we are with you in spirit.
