

88, of Palm Beach Gardens passed away on August 30, 2014. Ken was born in Tyler, Alabama on October 27, 1925. Ken was a proud Naval Veteran serving his country during WWII. He attained the rank of Sonar Man Third Class on the USS PC821, a sub chaser in the North Atlantic Theatre. After the service, Ken worked for Alabama Gas/Alagasco and retired after over 40 years with the company as a supervisor in Auburn-Opelika, AL. Ken thoroughly enjoyed his retirement on Lake Martin with his wife, Bette, where they loved to go boating and fishing. He also loved to go camping in their travel trailer in the mountains of North Carolina or the beaches in Florida. Ken was a true southern gentleman and never met a stranger. He loved meeting and connecting with people and was a colorful storyteller. He was also known as a great southern cook, most notably for his cornbread! He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Bette; children Robert (Shirley) Rollins, Jr., Louise (Doug) Burch, Llew (Debbie) Rollins, Beth Rollins-Carter, Dana Rollins, and Lisa (Manny) Rollins-Garcia; Grandchildren Rob Rollins III, Melissa Rollins McGourty, Scott Rollins, Llew Rollins, Jr., Chris Burch, Slade Burch, Allison Carter, Will Carter, Stuart Carter, and Alexandra Garcia; and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 11-12 Noon with funeral services at 12 Noon, Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter. Burial will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth at 1:45 PM.
