Robert L Simpson

Bob was born in Kinston, NC and grew up in the mountains around Somerset, PA sharing escapades with his 3 brothers (Sam, Bill, Dave) and sister (Elsie). He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. After attending Penn State University, Bob was employed by the Atlantic Refining Co. for 9 years as a merchant seaman traveling all over the world experiencing great adventures. In 1960 he and wife Nancy (Parnell) and 3 children moved to Tequesta, FL. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 25 years. Following retirement, Bob and Nancy enjoyed many years traveling the US and Canada in their RV. He was a member of the American Legion Post 271 and participated in many community activities.

Bob is survived by Nancy, his wife of 57 years and daughter Diane Pignato, sons Mark Simpson (Jody) and Brian Simpson. He has 7 grandchildren Allison (James) Garbett, Brent (Aubrey) Pignato, Jackie (Donny) Freeman, Caitlin Simpson, Jamie Simpson, Kellie Simpson, Emily Simpson and 2 great-grand children Parker Elizabeth Garbett and Easton Daniel Freeman.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Simpson family home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday January 18, 2014. He will be inurned at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta. Donations in Bob’s name may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
