It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Anthony Miller, who left us on December 6, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 4, 1935, in Kingston, Jamaica, Ronald was a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering love for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who have the privilege of knowing him.
Ronald's early life laid the foundation for a lifetime of dedication and learning. He was a proud graduate of St. George's College in Kingston before moving to the United States, where he furthered his education, earning a degree in applied science from the New York City Community College. Ronald met Norma Crocco, and together they began their married life in Washington Heights, where they welcomed their daughters Jacqueline and Lisa.
It was in the bustling environment of the Fredrick Harris Engineering Firm in the 1970s that Ronald met the love of his life, Mary Lou O’Connor. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful marriage that spanned 47 years and two daughters, Kellie and Krista, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Ronald dedicated his professional life to Structural and Civil Design Engineering, a career he retired from before moving to the serene landscapes of Palm Beach Gardens twenty years ago.
Ronald had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found immense joy in nurturing his surroundings. He took great pride in meticulously manicuring the lawn of the home he designed in Brick, New Jersey, and later, cultivating a vibrant flower and fruit sanctuary in Evergreen, Palm Beach Gardens, which he lovingly tended for the last two decades. His passions extended to the arts, particularly classical music, where he found solace and delight in the powerful voices of opera singers like Mario Lanza and Luciano Pavarotti. His favorite song, the iconic "Bolero," often filled his home with its rhythmic charm. Beyond his personal sanctuary, Ronald was an avid observer of the world, keenly following the stock market, staying informed with Fox News, and cheering passionately for his beloved New York Yankees.
Above all else, Ronald valued his family. He took tremendous pride in his four daughters and supported them throughout their lives with steady encouragement, love, and wisdom. His home was a place of laughter and warmth, and he loved to entertain, making every guest feel truly welcome and part of the family. He found joy in life’s simple routines, especially making breakfast, a small ritual that became a daily expression of care. Ronald was also a wonderful neighbor, known and appreciated in every community he called home. His kindness, gentle presence, and genuine interest in others created lasting connections wherever he lived.
Ronald is survived by his daughters Jacqueline Oberst and her husband Robert, Lisa Miller, Kellie Miller and her husband Michael La Mastra, and Krista Miller and her wife Jessica Rommel. He is also survived by his sisters, Yvonne Sliva and her husband Raymond, and Marcia O'Brien. Ronald was a proud grandfather to Kimberly, Shawna, Leia, and Fernando, and a joyful great-grandfather to Jaxson, Charlie, and Aria. He is remembered with love by his close family member, Carol Turano, and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ronald was preceded in death by his devoted wife of forty-seven years, Mary Lou Miller, and his beloved parents, Johannes C. Miller and Isoline T. Miller.
A service to celebrate Ronald's remarkable life will be held on Friday, December 19, at Christ Fellowship, Trinity campus, at 2 pm, located at 9625 N Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410. "The family invites you to join them for the repast at The Clubhouse at Avenir, 12255 Avenir Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33412."
