Rose Colombo of Jupiter, whose long life was filled with adventures, travel, and fun with family, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. Rose passed away a day after turning 97 years old, but in spirit she was forever 23. Rose had no children, but did her best to spoil her nieces and nephews and be there for them when needed. She had a great appetite for food, especially BBQ ribs, and for conversation. She had a great sense of humor and a biting wit, and could make you laugh while keeping a straight face. She loved going to Las Vegas and also enjoyed the Palm Beach Princess casino ship.
Rose was born on Nov. 18, 1926 in the Bronx, New York. The family moved to Larchmont, New York where Rose and her siblings, Adele, Jennie, and Mario attended grade school and high school. Rose was the last surviving sibling. She is survived by ten nieces and nephews and thirteen grand nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and admired this strong, independent, generous woman. We were blessed to have her in our lives.
Funeral services will be held on Dec. 28, 2023 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church at 11 am at 10970 Jack Nicklaus Drive, North Palm Beach. Internment of ashes will take place following the Funeral Mass at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trustbridge, 80 Donald Ross Road, Juno Beach FL 33408, (trustbridge.com); Shower The People, a charity that provides showers and clothing for the homeless, www.showerthepeople.us; or at 6231 PGA Blvd, Suite 104-221, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418.
