Stephen James Frouge Sr., 64, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away on April 10, 2026. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Stephen carried his roots with him throughout his life, leaving a legacy of creativity, talent, and deep devotion to his family.
Stephen spent his career at Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked in the interior shop building helicopters. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were exceptional, earning him the distinguished honor of being personally requested by the King of Brunei to work on his helicopters. His talent was beyond belief, and he took immense pride in the work of his hands.
Outside of his career, Stephen was a gifted woodworker who could build anything he imagined. He especially loved bringing his daughter’s ideas to life, turning her visions into something tangible with skill. He was also an incredible cook—those lucky enough to enjoy his eggplant parmesan knew it was something truly special. He also had a love for espresso, and it became one of his simple daily joys.Stephen found joy in simple pleasures as well, including time spent at the casino, where the sound of slot machines lit up his eyes.
Above all, Stephen’s greatest joy and passion were his grandchildren. Living next door to them was one of the greatest blessings of his life. Each day, he would wait with his door wide open for them to come home, ready to spend afternoons and evenings together. Whether he was painting, playing with playdough, throwing baseballs, working on puzzles, pushing them on swings, or playing dolls, Stephen gave them his full heart and attention. To them, he was not just a grandfather or Baba—he was a constant, loving presence and a best friend.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Frouge Jr. (widowed from Kelsey Frouge) and grandson Miles Frouge and his daughter, Jessica Frouge (Dan), along with their children Paxton Fawcett and Malia Fawcett.
He is predeceased by his son, Joseph F. Frouge and previously married to Lauri Morrissey.
Stephen is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Frouge, IV (Debbie), Joann Ferreri (Frank), Carol Moccaie, Clark Frouge (Sheryl), Michael Frouge (Joann), and John Frouge (Heather).
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Frouge and Eleanor Capasso Frouge of Bridgeport, Connecticut; his brothers, Robert Frouge and Frank Frouge; and his sisters, Linda Rose and Cheryl Miller.
Stephen will be remembered for his extraordinary talent and the love he showed through both his craftsmanship and his time with family. He truly was the best Baba.
Service details will be forthcoming, as the family plans to celebrate his life in Bridgeport, Connecticut in the coming weeks.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, or simply take a moment the next time you’re at a casino to play a slot machine and think of Stephen.
