Susan’s quick wit, humor and sharp, sarcastic charm endeared her to all who knew her, while her kindness and selflessness were a guiding light to those in need. Susan was an Occupational Therapist who loved her work. She embraced life with a fervor for adventure and a love for the simple pleasures.
Her passion for exploration led her to travel far and wide. Susan's adventurous spirit extended to the open seas, where she etched her name in the archives of angling history as a world record holder in the fly-fishing category. Her love for fishing knew no bounds, and she was a proud member of the International Women's Fishing Association, where she shared her passion with fellow enthusiasts.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with this remarkable woman. May she rest in peace, where the waters are tranquil, and the fish are always biting.
Susan is survived by her mother, Donna; her sister, Laura; her brothers, Kenneth (Lori) and Steven (Crisi); her nephew, Colin, and her loving dog, Ruby.
Her father Richard J. McCarthy preceded her in death.
A funeral mass for Susan will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Rd, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410 on Saturday, February 24, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of life will also be held, details TBA.
