

Thomas R. (Tom) Baker, Jr. passed away on July 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Tom was born on February 3, 1936, in Miami and lived there until he relocated with his family to North Palm Beach in 1962. Tom resided in northern Palm Beach County until 1998 when he and his wife, Linda, moved to Satellite Beach.
Tom attended Miami Edison HS, and worked at his father’s grocery store, until he went to college at The Citadel. He moved back to Miami to marry Mildred Butler and then began working for Nabisco as a salesman. His sales career was interrupted by service in the U.S. Air Force but then continued with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 30 years.
Tom is survived by his brother, Michael D. Baker, Sr. (Donna); a son, Thomas R. Baker, III (Cam); a daughter, Dale L. Hammaker (Aldine); his grandchildren, Thomas R. Baker, IV (Jessica), Haley Volk (Jesse), Danny Baker, and Chas Hammaker (Sagina); and his great grandson Thomas R. Baker, V.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T. Riley and Nell Berryhill Baker; his sister, Jacqueline DeVane and the love of his life, Linda Wylie Baker.
Tom became a Christian in his youth and attended Miami Shores Baptist Church. As an adult, Tom’s enjoyed providing community service as a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Tom worked hard; building, owning, and managing multiple apartment units in northern Palm Beach County. This pursuit allowed him to play hard; owning and enjoying boats and multiple motorcycles. His passion for motorcycles lasted well into his 70’s as a member of the Patriot Guard Riders.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Trustbridge Hospice Foundation.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. A funeral service will occur at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta, FL.
