

He was born in Islip, NY, on November 27, 1947 to Frank and Veronica Smisek. He lived a full and adventurous life of boating, scuba diving, fixing things and building boats. He met his sweetheart, Sharon O’Connell at SUNY at Stonybrook, and they married in NY on August 3, 1968. They moved to Florida to continue their education. He graduated from FAU as an Ocean Engineer and had 2 children, Lynn and Brian. He enjoyed boating in the Bahamas and spending time with his family and working on their waterfront home in Lighthouse Point.
Tom retired from Bell South in 1998 and traveled across the country with Sharon and their dog Homer. They moved back to FL and settled in Jupiter.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, his son Brian, and daughter Lynn, his son-in-law Reid Hansen, his only grandchild, Drake Hansen and golden retriever Casey. He is also survived by his siblings Frank (Colleen) Smisek, Veronica Kenney, and Marianne (Louis) Weinfurt. He was loved by many other family members, colleagues and friends.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held on December 2, 2017.
