William “Bill” Glen Larrison, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 after a 3+ year courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS. Bill was born on October 8, 1946 in Wolflake, Indiana to Glen and Roberta Larrison.
Growing up on a farm in rural Indiana meant hard work as well as plenty of ruckus for him and his siblings: Ted, Steve, Bonnie, and Jack. Bill graduated from Cromwell High School and went off to Taylor University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree Social Studies / Biblical Literature and immediately earned his Masters’ of Divinity at Emory University. He later earned his doctoral degree in Pastoral Counseling at St. Paul School of Theology. Although he spent the early years of his career in a traditional pastoral role, he found his true calling as a marriage and family therapist and founded the Community Christian Counseling Center.
A gregarious man full of joy with a larger than life laugh, there was nothing more precious to him than being in the midst of friends and family, especially his grandkids: Devanny, Kieran, Mika, and Rhett. His happiest moments were spent forest bathing, traveling the globe, or strolling dog beach with his pup, Gussie. He hiked countless mountains in National Parks, attended a multitude of basketball and baseball games, listened to any live music, and single handedly kept Hallmark in business with all of the greeting cards he purchased and sent. You never met a man with a warmer embrace!
He is survived by his love, Rene Berner; his three children, Randy (Lynn), Wendy (Chris), Mindy (Shawn) and their families; brothers, Ted (Darlene) and Steve (Pam) and sister, Bonnie (Peder).
He is predeceased by parents Glen and Roberta Larrison and brother, Jack.
Bill’s celebration of life service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9625 N. Military Trl, Palm Beach Gardens, FL on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Bill has requested that memorial donations be made to: The Community Christian Counseling Center, Bill Larrison Endowment, 9625 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.
