Alvin Cortez Sanchez, 83 of Haliimaile, left this world peacefully on Friday April 4th, 2025 at Honolulu, Hawaii surrounded by his loving family.
Alvin C. Sanchez was born on February 5, 1942 in Cabaritan, Santa Lucia, Ilocos sur, Philippines. He grew up in Cabaritan, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. He moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1971, where he started his career in HC&S as an irrigation specialist, which he dedicated himself to for 33 years.
Alvin loved to stay active and enjoyed to holoholo with his wife on the Maui bus around the island. He loved gardening and grew numerous delicious fruits and vegetables. He also loved to watch boxing, MMA, sports, and wheel of fortune. But most of all, he loved spending quality time with family.
Alvin is the son of the late Graciano Sanchez and Luciana Sanchez. He is survived by his loving wife Lucia Sanchez; his children Alex (Luri) Sanchez, Albert (Ronda) Sanchez, Carmela (Chanse) Aoki and Emily (Eddie) Lee; his siblings, Florentina Lapuebla (deceased), Lorenzo Sanchez (deceased), Cipriana Cabo, Valentina Habon, Artemio Sanchez, Felixberto Sanchez, Dioncio Sanchez, Orlando Sanchez, Myrna Alvarez; grandchildren Brandon Lono, J.T. (Leslie) Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez (Tachisna), Anthony Sanchez, Brian Sanchez, Emma Lani Lee and Elianna Lee; great grandchildren Amaya Sanchez, Brielle Lono and Sophia Sanchez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him deeply.
Funeral services to celebrate Alvin Sanchez's life will be at 9am on May 3, 2025 at St. Joseph Church in Makawao; mass at 11am. Burial will be at 2pm at Valley Isle Memorial Park Cemetery in Haiku.
