Jojo was a veteran of the US Army and a retired Maui County lifeguard and swim instructor for more than 40 years at the Waluku pool. She was very passionate about being a lifeguard and had a deep connection with the community.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Public viewing will be from 8:30am - 11am with services to begin at 11:15am. The family requests casual attire.
Jojo is survived by her children Duane (Marjorie) Porter, Kent , Zelie (Chuck Hisamoto, deceased) , Jasen, Kaimana Apo and hanai son, Rusty Basco. Siblings Charles (Diana) Ledward Jr., Patricia Cook, Luana deceased (Bernard) Kamakahi and Shoji Ledward, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
