Of Wailuku, Maui, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was well known for her kind heart, generosity and her cooking, she loved to cook, her love for singing karaoke and spending time with her family is what she loved the most. Born on Oahu and raised on Maui, she was just a baby when she and the family moved to Maui.
She worked at various jobs and was a devout Christian at New Hope Church in Kahului. She was independent, hard working with a strong loving personality that she always shared. She would walk through fire for her family.
Dayna “Nani” is survived by her husband John of 25 years, children, Jona (Kaile) Gerard-Soliven, Jayden Gerard-Soliven, Jayna Gerard-Soliven and Jaren Daniel Gerard-Soliven; 2 grandchildren, Kingston Gerard-Soliven and Tatum Gerard-Soliven; siblings, Donna (Vera) Gerard, Derek (Tammy) Gerard, Diana (James) Elizares, Donald Gerard Jr., Arnold Gerard, Rona Fernandez and countless family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Donald Gerard Sr., and brothers, Daniel and Donald II Gerard.
Visitation will be held from 9am to 2pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Ballard Family Mortuary; services start at 11am; cremation will follow.
