Diane Marie Wolfe, wonderful mother, wife, and friend, 81, passed away peacefully November 25th in Kamuela Hawaii where she was surrounded by family. She was born October 14th, 1942 to Byron and Dorothy Griffith in Aberdeen Washington. Diane met her lifetime love Arnie Wolfe while attending Junior High School in Medford Oregon. After she finished high school she attended Shasta Jr College and shortly after Arnie and her were married on May 6th, 1962. They remained married for the next 61 years and during that time they raised their four children, Mark, Morgan, Debi and Tony. The family started out in Oregon within the towns of Medford and Eugene before moving to Hoquiam Washington and finally settling in Anacortes in 1979.During their early years as a family Diane loved to babysit kids and often took foster kids into the home. Her motherly love was something she loved to share with all the kids she possibly could. Diane was also a trained and talented seamstress who could do anything from sewing a boat cover to making fancy dresses for her children. During their time in Hoquiam, she became an accomplished fish filleter and spent time on the assembly line within a fish factory. In 1980, she started doing the bookkeeping for their business, Superior Systems Inc where she did that for many years. Throughout her life she enjoyed fishing with her husband Arnie, and the family spent many summers enjoying time on the boat in the San Juan Islands. Her favorite place in the San Juans was Patos Island, where she enjoyed camping with the family. To fill any spare time she had, you could always count on her running into town to go shopping or watching QVC at home. In later life, her and Arnie found a love of Hawaii where they built themselves a home on the Big Island. She enjoyed soaking up the sun by the pool and catching a nap with their cat Hobi. She could often be found doing a puzzle or watching Wheel of Fortune under their lanai. Diane is survived by her husband of 61 years, Arnie Wolfe, son Mark and wife Lisa, daughter Morgan Muhlhauser, daughter Debi and husband Brian Overby, son Tony, brother Vern, and brother Robert. She left behind 9 grandchildren, Petrina, Casey, Shana, Dayna, Austin, Connor, Mitchell and Kayla as well as 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Byron and Dorothy, and grandson Kirby Muhlhauser.
