Elmer Yoneda, 76, of Kohala, passed away on April 13, 2017, at his residence. Elmer was born on December 25,1940 in Kohala, HI. He was retired from the State of Hawaii, Dept. of Accounting and General Services (DAGS). Visitation 10am - 1pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo (570 Kinoole St. Hilo, HI 96720). Cremation to follow. Friends may call 8am for a 10am mass on Saturday, June 3,2017 at Sacred Heart Church, Hawi. Burial at a later date. He is survived by his daughters; Dawn (Raymond) Valenzuela and Jodi (Henry Alameda, Jr.) Yoneda of Kohala; Cheri (Elmer Ragpala) Pires of Paauhau; son-in-law, Kevin Pires of Hilo; sister, Setsuko Kimura of Hawi; brother-in-law, Stanley Cornelio of California. 8 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, nieces nephews and numerous cousins.
