Joseph “Joe” Lawrence De Costa Jr., 85, of Mountain View, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Pahala and retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Yamada & Sons Company, Hamakua Sugar Company, Willocks Construction Company and Owner of Joe’s Bulldozing Service. Funeral services will be held at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home- Hilo on Friday, August 15, 2014. Visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am. He is survived by his sons Gordon (Pat) De Costa of Mountain View and Leroy De Costa of Waimea; daughters Debbie (Walter) Wong Yuen of Pahala and Charna (Aaron) Ontiveros of Las Vegas; brother Raymond De Costa of Washington; sisters Lorraine (Walter) Gonsalves of Honolulu and Frances (Hank) Kirkland of California; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous cousins.
