
She was born in Kula on Friday, May 31, 1935 to Edwin and Georgina Haole of Makawao.
She met the love of her life Alfred “Sunchi” Ferreira got married and had 5 children; Ricky Ferreira, Barbara “ Honey” (Brian) Estrella-Franco, Phyllis “ Cookie” Molina, Alfred “Braddah”(Ernestine) Ferreira III and pre-deceased by, her son Blaine K. Ferreira. She has 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great Grandchild. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Morris (Patricia) Haole and her only sister Mildred Helm, both of Makawao.
Some of the accomplishments she filled her life with; Makawao School May Day Queen in her eighth grade year; graduated as a perfectionist seamstress; school bus driver for Royal Motors; built floats for the Makawao 4th of July Parade and was a Pa’u Rider for the Makawao 4th of July Parade for many years; made the best Chow Fun for the St Joseph Annual Feast for many years; Restaurant Manager for Woolworths; entrepreneur of her own Noodle Shop in Kahului; made the best dry mein and fried chicken as the Deli-Manager for Liquor Shack in Makawao; most of all she was the BEST, LOVING, CARING, UNSELFISH daughter, sister, cousin, wife, Aunt, friend MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER to ALL of us!
Services will be held at St Joseph Church in Makawao on Saturday May 24th 2014 with visitation from 9:00am; followed by Mass and burial in the St Joseph Church Cemetery. Norman’s Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
A warm loving appreciation for the support and loving care from Kula Hospital, Dr. Kim Chee Nguyen, Stephanie Ahina-Peter, ALL the nurses on 4th floor South & North, Hospice Maui, Gammie Home Care, MEO, Aunty Leilani & Uncle Sam, Para Transport, many family and friends that made her day happy.
