Manuel Mercado Sr., 80, of Mountain View, passed away on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at home. He was born in Hilo and Retired as a landscaper for the County Of Hawaii. Funeral services will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary, Wednesday September 24, 2014. Visitation at 9:00 am, service at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery at 12:00 pm. He is preceded in death by his son Manuel Mercado II. He is survived by his spouse Alice Mercado of Mountain View; sons Manuel (Linda) Mercado III. of Keaau, John (Debra) Mercado of Keaau, Robert (June) Mercado of Lanai, Manuel Dejesus Mercado I of Honolulu, Peter Mercado of Mountain View; daughters Linda (Lee) Pennywell of Neveda, Judy (Joe) Mercado of Honolulu, Monalisa Santos of Honolulu, Alice (Louis) Smith of Texas, Virginia Santana of New York, Cynthia (Pat) Kisamore of Mountain View; sister in law Felecidad Mercado “Tillie” of Hilo; 34 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
