Patricia Ann Wong Akiyama, 66, of Hilo, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born on February 11, 1949 in Honolulu, Oahu. She graduated from Star of the Sea School in Honolulu and received her bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Patricia was formerly employed by Hawaii Tribune Herald and more recently for the state of Hawaii, Judiciary Traffic Operations Branch in Hilo. She is survived by her Mother Agnes Wong; daughters Lisa (David Stein) Akiyama of Saratoga, CA, Janel (Bob) Meehan of San Diego, CA and Gail (Csaba Pallos) Akiyama of Edmonds WA; brother Donavan Wong; sisters Verna Wong and Michelle (Tinker) Schutte; 4 grandsons.
