Richard Adam Ignacio, 96, of Honoka’a, passed away on August 31, 2023 at Hale Hoola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in Waipunalei on April 17, 1927, he worked for Holmes and Narver, Kaiwiki and Ookala Sugar Plantation, Jas W. Glover and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
He is survived by wife, Irene Ignacio; daughters, Kaylene (Gary) Torres Sr., Kelly (Denis) Gibo; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kapono) Ammasi, Selena (Wesly) DeMotta, Megan (Aaron) Glimane, Dezlie (David) Nesting, Gary (Bobbie-Jo) Torres Jr.; in laws, Lorraine Gonsalves, Robert (Virginia) Gonsalves, Violet Gonsalves; in addition to 16 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on September 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Visitation 8:00 a.m., Memorial Mass 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at church cemetery.
