Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku; mass will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m.
Stephen was the owner of S. Funes Trucking.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Funai) Funes; son, Rowan Funes; daughter, Rae Ann Purdy; 3 step-daughters, Natia Manaois, Maizie Manaois, and Robin (Ronald) Min; parents, Marvin (Ethel) Funes, and Ethel Tanaka; brothers, Alan Funes, Guy (Cindi) Funes; sister, Stephanie (Jose) Madera Torres; 4 step-brothers, Galen Carvalho, Norman Tanaka, Kurt Tanaka, James Tanaka; and 10 grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge Hospice Maui for their compassionate care of Stephen.
