Violeta Balaqui Martinez, 72, of Lahaina, passed away on December 19, 2010, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 17, 1939, in Dindras Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Violeta was a hotel housekeeper. She is predeceased by her son, Patrocinio Matrinez, Jr.; survived by sons, Isaias (Agnes) Martinez, David (Jane) Martinez; daughter, Marie (Haro) Kurihara; brother, Silverio Balaqui; sister, Mercedes Tutop; grandchildren, Cyrus, Irish, Aiza, Joy, David Jr., Dhiane, Aziel, Duane, Godgiven, Zoey, Ryland; and great grandchildren, Alyssa, and Io.
Services: Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation also 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. o Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service will start at 9:00 a.m.; burial 1:00 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park, Haiku.
