It is with great sorrow, that we, the family announce the tragic passing of Cameron Jason Casorso, on February 02, 2026, in Stavely, Alberta at the age of 18 years old.
Cameron, born in Calgary, Alberta on July 12, 2007, to parents Christine and Jason Casorso, who loved him greatly. He had an infectious laugh, and brought humor to any conversation. Cameron was the kindest human and brought light into any room he walked into.
Cameron’s most beloved trait was his ability to create meaningful relationships with those around him. One of his most beloved and cherished relationships was that with his older sister Ava. The term “two peas in a pod”, best describes these two, and the love between them was mutual, often entering a room laughing with or at each other.
Family was one of Cameron’s core values and he will be greatly missed by, his Grandparents, Tom and Val Vicars, Donna Bohn and Ernie Casorso, as well as his beloved aunts and uncles, Christine and Steve Cardall, Tammy and Brent Cox, and Thomas and Angela Vicars.
Cameron’s ability to create special relationships extended to his cousins who will miss him dearly. He will be fondly remembered by Caillie and Addyson Vicars, Reid and Brooklyn Cox, and Cassidy and Neviah Cardall. The moon-lit boat rides will not be the same without you.
Cameron loved hanging out with his friends, playing and watching sports and was always up for a good nap. He particularly loved snowboarding and golf, but his true passion was playing hockey. Cameron wanted nothing more than to spend his time on the ice in between the pipes. That was his home.
Pursuing hockey was his dream, and that dream led him to play for the Southern Alberta Mustangs. The relationships that Cameron fostered on the Mustangs will forever be treasured, and it was truly where he was meant to be.
Cameron will be dearly missed by his friends and family, but his legacy and memories will continue to live in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held at the Coast hotel, on Saturday February 21st, 2026, at 1pm.
As a way to honor Cameron’s life, the family encourages you to wear your favorite hockey jersey or your most comfortable hoodie.
