It is with great sadness that we announce that Enid May Rolin passed away in Kamloops, BC on November 23, 2025, at the age of 94. Enid was born in Ridgedale, Saskatchewan on October 1, 1931. She was the second youngest of eight children born to Ernest and Irene Stewart.
Enid is predeceased by her husband of over 71 years, Urb Rolin (who passed earlier this year), and her daughter Diane; her parents, Ernest and Irene; and her siblings Gerald, Lloyd, Wilma, Wilbert, Evelyn, Ross, and Earl. She will be sadly missed by her son Bruce (Helen), grandchildren Courtney and Michael (Lucy), and great-grandson Beau, all of Sydney, Australia, sisters-in-law Dorothy and Janet, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Enid moved with her family to the Salmon Arm, BC area in 1935 and attended school in Carlin, Salmon Arm West, and Salmon Arm High School. She took her teacher training in Victoria and taught in the Salmon Arm district and at North Kamloops Elementary.
Enid married Urb Rolin in 1953, and together they moved to various locations throughout his career with Trans Mountain Pipeline, including Blue River, Brookmere, Jasper, Edmonton, and Kamloops. Children Diane and Bruce were born during their journey.
During their twenty-one years in Jasper (1961–1982), Enid taught at Jasper Elementary School and Jasper Junior-Senior High School, and worked at Helen’s Gems and Rowed and O’Neill. She was very active in the community and served as Secretary of the Jasper United Church Women for a number of years.
She loved to read and learn, enjoyed travel, and valued good friends. Enid was an intelligent woman and loved her family dearly.
The family would especially like to thank Enid’s niece, Donna McMillan, for her love and support of Enid for a long time. They would also like to thank the staff at Ridgeview Lodge and the doctors and nurses at Royal Inland Hospital for their care.
Should friends wish to, donations in memory of Enid Rolin can be made to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.
There will be no Memorial Service at this time.
