It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Larry due to a motor cycle accident on the morning of May 5 near Kamloops, BC.
Larry was born on January 16, 1958 and adopted shortly after by Edward and Marie Zens (nee Walters). He was raised on the family farm in Melfort, Saskatchewan and from an early age, it was evident that Larry enjoyed all things mechanical. Even so, Dad's love for horses was meant to be shared by all his children and he teamed Larry up with his own Welsh pony, Star. The two of them enjoyed many 4-H and gymkhana seasons together, but Larry's real passion remained mechanical things. As a result, Larry's career in the autobody industry was started and over the years, it took him to many different locations in the three Western Canadian provinces. Two other passions accompanied him throughout the years - hunting and motorcycling. In his earlier years Larry's love of hunting was evident, as part of the family home was indeed a wildlife museum. Over the years however, it became evident that his true passion was motorcycling, as he experienced the beauty of our country and the personal peace and freedom that he felt through the rides that he shared with his friends and son Brenden. This was his true happiness, and this is how we shall dearly remember him.
Larry will be lovingly remembered by his son Brenden Zens and his daughter Renata Zens and his older brother Lorne (Margaret) Zens and family and younger sister Debbie (Gregg) Hampton and family. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marie Zens.
Life is a blessing that you only get to
live one day at a time. So make each
day a new memory because
tomorrow a memory may be all that is left.
