Madeleine loved being around family and friends, from the beginning of her marriage, anything any family member needed, Madeleine and Larry were there. She assisted in the upbringing of her and Larry's younger siblings, and still went on to have four crumb-grabbers of her own. A homemaker and extensive volunteer worker, she gave her time selflessly. Madeleine raised her family in Richmond B.C., and a second home in Point Roberts for many years. She loved to stroll the beach, and was always soothed by the wind, waves, and rain. She was the hostess with the mostess to all that visited.
After they sold their cottage, then Richmond home, Larry and Madeleine settled in Logan Lake. They did a lot of camping and touring to meet up with or visit family and friends- it's what made them tick.
Madeleine's kindness knew no bounds; baking was a huge part of her life that she shared with everyone. You could always count on her for treats in the house when visiting and for the care packages sent out, always with love. Shout out to the Jube Jube and Cookie jars she kept full for us year- round; so many habitual traditions she fulfilled. Other hobbies included, cross stitching, and belonged to a crafting group in Logan Lake that meant a lot to her. Who can forget the all occasion cards sent out to family and friends( your welcome Hallmark). You could always count on a card coming for every moment to think of, or celebrate you. Madeleine loved trivia, crossword puzzles, jigsaw, puzzles and time travelled through her books and movies. When she wasn't doing all of that, she was Larry's right hand construction worker in all the home improvement projects, they loved the time they had together, even through frustrating times, she never clutched her pearls. She always stayed away from any dull moments, and made all her time matter. Madeleine's fashion was amazing right to the end, all outfits were accompanied by the matching jewellery accessories needed. Her earrings collection alone spans two stand up jewellery boxes. Always a true lady.
Since Larry's passing, we were so lucky to spend almost two years hanging out with just Madeleine, celebrating her life and getting to know the true human beyond wife and mom. Although she will be missed by us all, it was a privilege and honour to spend such quality time with her. She had no regrets, nothing was left unsaid and a lifetime of beautiful memories will shower us with such white light forever. Love you Madeleine - Wife, Sister, Mom & Friend.
