Paul Gordon Craik

On January 29, 2026 Paul Gordon Craik (Gordie) of Kamloops, BC died peacefully in his sleep at Marjorie Willoughby Hospice.

Gordie was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, the love of his life, Olivia Louise Craik nee Reeds. Gordie was born in Miramichi, NB in December of 1934 to parents Hubert Gordon Craik and Laura Craik nee Murphy. He is predeceased by siblings Kenny Craik, Joseph Craik, Clarence Craik, Sandra Fijel nee Craik and Great granddaughter Dahlia Gilmour-Sparling. He is predeceased by his companion Barbra Kenyon.

Gordie is survived by his sisters Joan Johnston nee Craik and Theresa MacKenzie nee Craik, daughter Linda Louse Craik, son Paul Randy Craik, grandson William Sparling, great granddaughters Elysian Gilmour-Sparling and Rose Gilmour-Sparling

Gordie was a devoted husband, father and hard worker who always put family first. After High School he served in all three branches of the Canadian military where he was known by the nickname “Jack”. While serving in the RCAF he trained in electronics. In 1971 he retired from military service and began work at BC Telephone/Telus. He was active in the Telecommunications Workers’ Union. Throughout his life he played and was a fan of sports whether it was hockey, boxing, broom ball, basketball, baseball, curling, or golf. He made a hobby of making homemade plum wine.

Gordie always had a great sense of humour and he always had entertaining stories to tell. He had a reputation of being liked by everyone who knew him. He remains forever cherished and held in our hearts.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Shoening’s Funeral Home, 513 Seymour Street, Kamloops, BC. For those who knew him or were close to him.
