Robert Donald Setka

Robert Donald Setka {known as Don} was born on March 6, 1936 to Dr. Bill and Vesta Setka in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. Don peacefully passed on December 29, 2025 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.

Left to cherish his memory of 66 years, his loving wife Maude, sisters Joan Anderson of Calgary, Alberta, Carol Hulme of Chilliwack, BC, brother Roger Setka of Winnipeg, Manitoba and sister-in-law Dr. Monica Tracy of White Rock, BC. Don leaves behind his beloved three sons, Scott (Lori) of Victoria, BC, Daniel of Mission, BC and Gordon (Janis) of Kamloops, BC; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Don was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Nicole, Jesse, Rachel, Rebecca, Tim (Nicolle), Alysha (Adam), Josh, Joel (Kelsey), Jeremy (Dasha), Kyle (Julie) and Krista (Mike); along with 13 great grandchildren.

Don worked for 35 years in sales, retired to Kamloops, BC in 1991. Music was a big part of Don’s retirement, playing in the worship team at church, his own small music groups; along with the Kamloops Big Band and Kamloops Rube Band. Music brought Don to various locations in Canada and the United States meeting many talented and wonderful friends along the way. When Don wasn’t playing his music, he also worked part-time with BC Parks and Impark (TRU); as well as other hobbies like fishing, golfing and travelling.
