Cynthia was born in Palo Alto hospital on March 7, 1942 to Jack and Frances Tuttle. She grew up in Menlo Park, California, with her brother John, and sister Lavonne (Voni). Educated at Catholic schools in the area, Cynthia later followed a boyfriend to Hawaii. The relationship did not last but it began her lifelong love affair with the Hawaiian Islands.
Cynthia resided in Honolulu for well over 50 years where she became an avid runner. Her surviving friends who got to know her through the running community are friends still. Discovering that there were no foot races just for women back in the 70s, she and several friends began the Honolulu Womens' 10k, a significant annual event to this day.
Cynthia joined Hawaii's Professional Women's Network (PWN) where she was an active participant for many years. Much like her running 'family', she made many friends through PWN who continued their connection with her even though, due to a bad fall, she had to move into care in 2021.
Hospitalized in early March due to a variety of ailments, she left this Earth on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Fran Tuttle; her brother John; and her son, Bums. She is survived by her sister, Voni; her grandchildren Mallory and Cassidy; a nephew and nieces; and many lifelong friends on the mainland and in Hawaii.
A memorial is being planned for this fall; at which time her ashes will be scattered in her beloved Islands. Details will be announced at a later date.
