

It is with great sadness that the family of Dan Masao Tokuoka announce his passing. Dan, 58 years old, son of Kiyoko and Donald Tokuoka, brother of Donna Tokuoka, husband of Jin Ae Kim Tokuoka and father to Chung Min Oh and Sharon Oh resided in Pearl City, Hawaii. He passed on November 12, 2024.
Dan was born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Pearl City Hawaii where he graduated from Aiea High School, Class of 1984, and moved on to continue his education at UH Manoa. He has then had various accomplishments spanning his career, assuming various leadership positions including District Sales Manager at Sprint, Director of Sales for Genesys Conferencing Inc., Vice President of Sales at World Class Conferencing, before launching his own businesses such as Avatar Communications Inc and Aluhana LLC. On the side, he proudly worked as a cashier at the family restaurant, Elim, making positive lasting impressions with staff and customers alike with his personable charm and wit.
Dan and his surviving wife, Jinny, joined families on October 3rd, 2009, becoming a father to son, Chung Min, and daughter, Sharon.
Dan enjoyed playing pool, watching movies with the family, finding the ono foods to review, the occasional cigar and whiskey with his best friends, playing with his beloved pups, Pepper and Louie, and pizza/late night drive dates with his wife.
He will be forever missed as we are deeply grateful to have been part of his life’s journey. There will be a Celebration of Life on January 11, 2025, at Hawaiian Memorial Park & Funeral Services at the Glass Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 and reception 12:00 pm.
