June 14, 1937 – February 26, 2026
With profound love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Elisa Espiritu Quiban, who entered eternal rest on February 26, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on June 14, 1937, in Manila, Philippines to Esteban Espiritu and Honoria Binua, Elisa was raised in a privileged and loving home. After graduating from college, she became a Professor of Spanish and English at the University of Baguio. It was there that she met the love of her life, Marcos Quiban. After their marriage, they immigrated to America and made their home in Honolulu, where they built a life centered on faith and family.
In Honolulu, Elisa devoted herself to raising her five children while working as an administrative assistant at Hawaii Dental Service. She balanced career and motherhood with grace, strength, and unwavering love.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She once shared that she had wanted to become a nun, but God had another plan when she met Marcos. Deeply religious and devoted to God, she faithfully imparted her Catholic faith to her children. The church was at the center of their daily life. Her spirituality guided her through every season, and she found lasting peace and comfort in prayer.
In 2017, she moved to Las Vegas to spend her retirement years surrounded by her children and family.
Elisa was truly unforgettable. Outgoing and vivacious, she had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that invited everyone in. She loved to sing and dance — there was not a day without music in her life. Whether it was a favorite song playing in the background or a spontaneous dance in the living room, she embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
Elisa found joy in simple pleasures — traveling to new places, enjoying good food, collecting beautiful jewelry, and surrounding herself with music. But more than anything, she treasured time with her family. She was happiest when she was laughing, talking story, or sharing a meal with those she loved.
She will be remembered for her radiant joy, her unwavering faith, and the love she gave so freely.
She is lovingly survived by her five children: Maria Es Lizette Quiban, Suzanne Nozawa, Judith Anne Keomaka, Anthony Jonathan Quiban, and Christopher Edmund Quiban.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Joshua Coronado, Naomi Kellani Coronado, Drew Nozawa, Dejah Keen, Frederick Keomaka III (Ekolu), Jacob Keomaka (Kama), and Azalea Jenkins.
She is further survived by her three great-grandchildren: Alana Keomaka, Maddix Jenkins, and Ren Keomaka.
Elisa is also survived by her beloved sister, Visitacion (Bondee) Perkins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marcos Quiban, her sister Corazon Maturan, her brothers Esteban Espiritu and Rudolph Espiritu.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with her husband Marcos, and in the presence of the Lord she trusted so deeply.
To her family, she often said, “I love you, love you, love you until the end of time.” That promise now carries us forward. Her song does not end here. It lives on in every melody we hear, every dance we share, and every act of love we give in her honor — until the end of time.
In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts are appreciated. Zelle, PayPal, Venmo or checks may be made payable to Anthony Quiban and mailed to 3980 8th Ave. #210, San Diego CA 92103.
