When we remember Evelyn, think of the memories we shared with her. Think of a girl chewing sugar cane on the plantation with 3 sisters Agnes – Mag – Loretta & brother Fred; think of a teenager meeting a boy at Baldwin High School to share a lifetime; remember her joy of Motherhood…think of a grandmother who moved to Oahu to be closer to her grandchildren. Her kitchen smells of chicken, chocolate, and ice cream and she spends her weekend quilting and crocheting blankets for her family. She sounds like a friendly, curious voice, who somehow manages to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone. Her favorite color was magenta pink and when we see this color, think of her, always. Remember a woman with an adventurous spirit to travel many countries throughout the world, including all 50 states, the energy to cut the grass at her home in Ewa Beach with scissors, and the dedication to take her favorite four-legged companion, Oreo, on hour long walks multiple times a day, always stopping to talk with neighbors. Evelyn was a woman with resolve and took great pride in her family.
