My deepest condolences to the family.  Jay (Hoku) and I were very close friends . We often provided a listening ear to one another when the other was down or needed support.   He was one of the very few people that I knew I could trust .  He helped me fix my car, would help me with oil change or brake adjustment.  I was always so blown away by how intelligent he was,   we had many deep, philosophical discussions .  He was very generous of his time and would share whatever he had with anyone who needed it. 

I am heartbroken that he was taken from us so suddenly . He will be dearly missed.  I don't know if my words will comfort you,  but it gives me comfort knowing that he is up there, watching over us now.  He will always be young, he will always be beautiful and I will always treasure the friendship we shared.

My son he was always that big brother to his sister and I love you for that

My name is, Barbie I am Jays ex-Girlfriend, my words can't even express the way my heart feels right now, even though we had our differences and we both ended up seeing other people... Jay was still a big part of my life. He was always there even when I didn't need him. Jay was always the go to guy if you needed help, especially if you owned a moped or anything that had a motor. Running or not even if it was falling apart, one way.... Jays' way! soon enough you'll hear that loud little engine purr. Jay was known as long hair Jay, but when he cut his hair (Due to a Dreadlock) aka no hairbrush... Our friend Codi Kohatsu will a lot of hesitation... cut it.  after that he was known as Moped Jay, the best Moped Mechanic anyone has ever came across! 
No matter what you'll always find Jay with riding or fixing a moped. Even if he wasn't fixing someone else's moped he'd be fixing his.  Even if his moped was running well, he'd still find something wrong with it just so he could get his hands greasy. I always told him that i thought he loved his moped more than he loved me...lol.  Jay was always at the right place at the right time especially when you're the one who's stuck on the side of the road... because just so happens... HEY JAY, is what you'll hear. and without a doubt he always stops, turns around and is right there for whoever it is that needed his help! to me he was Super Jay because if you needed him, he was always there for you.  Jay and I were together for 5 years, I remember the happiest moments we would have and laugh till our cheeks hurt, our stomachs were sore and almost Pee'd our pants were when we'd sing Grease songs together. Thats the parts i miss the most though Laughing with him or at him and seeing that bright smile of his. Every time I close my eyes that's what I see... Jay, smiling at me, or laughing, lol. Jay wasn't only my best friend... he was my heart. I loved him then and still love him now!  My love for Jay Hoku will last until the end of time.

Your smile will never be forgotten and always missed. I will cherish all the memories we made and had together. You left me the most precious gift, our daughter! You will always be in our hearts and always loved. We love you Hoku! ❤

Jay I miss you, we all do!!! But I'll cherish the memories we had with you like you teaching me to drive😘 You made such a big impact in my life and for that I'll be forever thankful... Lastly don't forget you were #1 "HONEY BABY" U KNOW!!!

RIP Jay. I will miss that shy smile and blush youd have when i would tease you and say damn your too good looking and if i were only 20 or 30 years younger! Dearest Jay not only a looker but a true friend with da biggest heart and so much talent  perhaps your only downfall was putting everyone ahead of yourself.
