Kim Yoshio Orton, 56, of Hauula, Hawaii, was born November 10, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and passed away April 16, 2026. Kim will be remembered as a beloved and devoted husband, father, son, and friend whose steady presence, compassionate heart, and quiet wisdom touched many lives. His life reflected a faithful spirit and a kind-hearted way of meeting others—offering encouragement, patience, and care in both ordinary moments and life’s most important seasons.
Kim built his working life with diligence and pride, serving as an Inspector for Bowers and Kubota. Known for being hard-working and dependable, he approached his responsibilities with integrity and consistency, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him and those who relied on his judgment. In all he did, Kim carried himself in a way that inspired confidence and gratitude.
Beyond his work, Kim’s talents and dedication were evident in the achievements he pursued with humility. He received art awards that reflected both skill and discipline, and he was a surfer sponsored by Local Motion—an accomplishment that spoke to his commitment and drive. Kim also served as Assistant to the Nagoya Mission President of the LDS Church, a role that reflected his faithful devotion and his willingness to support others with compassion and steadiness. His place of worship, Backyard Kingdom - Oasis, remained a meaningful part of his spiritual life and legacy.
Kim is survived by his spouse, Maelita Orton; his mother, Florence Orton; his son, Dane Orton; his daughter, Tasia Cellers; his daughter, Layla Orton; his son, Jaz Orton; and his daughter, Brazil Orton. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Orton, and his brother, Kenji Orton.
Kim’s legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and enduring faith. He will be deeply missed and respectfully remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
