

Peter J Barcia, MD, COL, USA (Ret.) died peacefully on Saturday, December 10 with Julie, his wife of sixty years, by his side. Peter was born September 3, 1939 in White Plains, New York. He graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and St. Louis University Medical School.
Peter joined the US Army in 1961, and after several stations in Georgia, Hawaii, and South Carolina, and a deployment to Vietnam, he and Julie settled in Kailua, Hawaii where they have remained since 1975. Peter was a general surgeon at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu until his retirement in 1997. Peter is survived by his wife, Julie, sons John, Daniel, Joseph, and Anthony, daughters, Amy, Kathleen, Julianne, Maureen, Maile, and Roselani, twenty-one grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Peter and Julie are longtime parishioners at St. John Vianney Parish in Kailua, Hawaii, where a funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023.
9am- Visitation begins at St. John Vianney
10am- Mass
11am- Reception on church lanai
1pm- Military Honor Ceremony and Burial at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl)
